Nebraska is hurting on Defense with yet another player lost for the season

Nebraska is hurting in a major way on the Defensive side of the ball. The Cornhuskers have lost another key piece for the 2014 season in projected starting Linebacker Michael Rose-Ivey. As a Freshman last season, Rose-Ivey set a Nebraska Freshman record with 66 tackles.
Nebraska will also be without cornerback Charles Jackson (Knee Injury) and defensive back LeRoy Alexander (suspension) for the entire 2014 campaign. Despite the losses, coach Bo Pelini is optimistic about the year,
“Our team morale is fine, I feel for those kids.  As far us going forward, we have a lot of good players and a lot of good competition. We will be fine.”
Being optimistic is what coaches are supposed to be, so I am not surprised by Pelini’s comments.  But if Nebraska is going to challenge for the West Division and Big 10 Conference Title, it is going to take incredible coaching by Pelini and his staff and stellar play by his team.  In our projections, we have Wisconsin winning the West with Nebraska finish…
