Nebraska Football 2014: 10 Things You Need To Know

To say Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini is animated would be an understatement. The fiery coach, following seven regular season wins did what most coaches wouldn’t dare think of doing – he challenged the administration to fire him if they did not think he was doing a job suitable for the university and its athletic program. Pelini was spared a pink slip and the Cornhuskers traveled to Jacksonville on New Year’s Day and beat one of the SEC’s best in the Georgia Bulldogs – no easy task under the guard of Mark Richt and 2014 Heisman candidate, Todd Gurley. This year, however, might be a little different as Pelini goes into the season with his seat already warmed for him by the Big Red faithful. Eight wins may not be good enough to retain his job this season as the Cornhuskers are picked to finish first in their division within the Big Ten.
