Live From BugahaWest: What Happened? Purdue game was fine but then Minny

Dear Fellow Husker fans,

I didn’t get around to posting after Purdue (funny how life gets in the way, even for 13 days).  I did pay attention and even during the bye week I watched the N’western/Minny game.  There were times during that game where I was thinking, oh boy, the gauntlet is going to start a week early.  Again, I hate it when I am right.

As for Minny I was thinking this was going to be fun.  Due to a quirk in my work schedule I was able to stay up all day yesterday and watch football.  Note to self, quit watching NU games and just listen to them online.  It has to be something about me watching the games.

Anyways, time to talk about the game a bit.  After reading today that T. Martinez still has discomfort in his foot I wonder, why was he in there?  I am sure it was easy to see that Taylor wasn’t wanting to run much and a Taylor with half a foot is no good.  As the game was going and Ameer was running well I kept on thinking,, why not give Armstrong a chance.   Imagine TA and AA running that option together.  It wasn’t exactly like Minny could stop the run.

So what is it with this team anyways?  I know people out there are saying this is it for Coach Bo.  Time for the change right there and Ech is itching to pull the plug.  I even had it told to me by a fellow fan they hoped Ech would pull a USC and not allow Pelini on the team bus when they got back to Omaha.  Wow, talk about harsh.  Let’s keep it simple then.  to save Coach Pelini’s job NU has to win out and in some cases might have to win out big.  A loss anywhere and I mean anywhere will be it.  I wont say I agree with it one way or another but that is the facts.  The big question is who do we get and remember the caveats, be realistic.  I have heard Scott Frost’s name (and funny thing is we play Oregon in a few years) but is that the route that is needed?  I think Tim Beck is doing ok, not great calling plays and I think you might want to try and keep him as OC.  So, in my humble opinion I think you need to revamp the defense, again.  Great thing is this might work for the best.  As was said during the game, this defense is young and I mean young.  Plenty of room for learning and growth.

Game ball goes to AA for his hard running.

On the N’Western.  God bless and Go Big Red.
