Huskers Travel To Prairie View Invitational



Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling will be tested this weekend, as they travel to Dallas, Texas to compete in the Prairie View Invitational beginning Friday.

The 11-team field at USA Bowl features the top-five teams in the NTCA poll and eight of the top 10 teams in the country. Nebraska, which is fourth nationally, is joined by top-ranked McKendree, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Arkansas State, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 7 Stephen F Austin, No. 9 Louisiana Tech, No. 10 Youngstown State, Prairie View A&M, Tulane and Texas Southern.

“This weekend’s event is loaded with top teams and quality competition,” said Head Coach Paul Klempa. “This will be a good test for our team to see where we stack up with the other top teams. Our team is excited for the competition and feels ready to do very well in the event.”

The tournament begins at 12:15 p.m. on Friday with five Baker-style matches with Saturday’s schedule having five Traditional-style matches starting at 9:25 a.m. and concluding on Sunday at 8:25 a.m. with one final Traditional match before bracket play begins.

The Huskers opened the season last week by placing fourth at the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational in Saint Louis. Sophomore Crystal Elliott led the Huskers with a fourth-place finish (1,270), while All-American Cassidy Ray finished 11th (1,146).
