Huskers Tabbed Fourth in Preseason Poll

Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling team will start the 2020-21 season among the nation’s best, as the National Tenpin Coaches Association released its preseason poll Monday afternoon.

The Huskers were tabbed fourth in the preseason poll, totaling 1,637 points, including a pair of first-place votes. NU was one of seven program that earned at least one first-place vote in the poll of 50 NCAA head coaches.  McKendree University was No. 1 in the preseason poll with 1,784 points, including 25 first-place votes.

Vanderbilt, (1,717; 14), Arkansas State (1,680; Five) and Sam Houston State (1,503; Two) rounded out the top five.

Despite losing 2020 National Bowler of the Year Raquel Orozco, the Huskers return a majority of their lineup from a year ago, including junior All-American Cassidy Ray. Nebraska brings back six letterwinners from a team that went 79-35 and won four regular-season tournament titles. In addition, the Huskers add a three-member recruiting class that includes Duquesne transfer Crystal Elliott.
