Huskers Head to Bradley Pink Classic



The Nebraska cross country team continues its season at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 15 in Peoria, Ill. The women’s 6K will begin at 3 p.m., with the men’s 8K to follow at 3:45 p.m.
 
The women’s field includes 37 teams competing while the men’s field features 30 teams set to compete.
 
Last Time Out
The Nebraska women placed fourth in the 5K at the Chile Pepper Festival with 187 points. Erika Freyhof clocked one of the fastest times in school history with a time of 16:52.1 to place third. Grace Pagone also finished in the top-15 for the Big Red, running at 17:21.0 to place 14th out of 322 runners. Hannah Godwin was the third Husker to cross the finish line with a time of 17:37.2 to finish 31st. Brynna McQuillen ran a time of 18:04.1 to place 62nd, followed by Jacquelyn Abanses in 79th with a time of 18:18.3.
 
The Husker men finished ninth overall with 346 points. Ryan Martins led Nebraska for the second meet in a row, covering the course in 24:10.1 to place ninth out of 327 runners. Mark Freyhof posted a time of 25:22.8 to finish 66th. Jack Ehlert clocked a time of 25:51.8 and placed 106th, followed by Bailey Timmons in 112th-place with a time of 25:57.5. Jerry Jorgenson placed 121st and crossed the finish line with a time of 26:02.3.
