Huskers Complete Day Two In Norman



Norman,Okla., — The Nebraska women’s tennis team concluded its second day of play at the 15k Oklahoma ITF with three Huskers competing.
 
In her first match of the day, sophomore Kristina Novak faced Mia Kupres of Canada and lost 2-6, 4-6 in the qualifying draw. 
 
Isabel Adrover Gallego battled and took her match to three sets against Tamara Barad Itzhaki of Virginia Tech but fell 5-7, 6-3, 1-6. In the 2020-21 season, Barad Itzhaki played out of the No. 1 spot for Virginia Tech. 
 
Vivien Sandberg paired up with Stefania Rogozinska Dzik from Poland. They fell short in doubles play against McKenna Schaefbauer and Kelly Williford 1-6, 4-6. 
 
Play will resume tomorrow morning with Sandberg lined up to play her first singles match and Adrover Gallego/Novak will take the court in doubles play.

Adrover Gallego(NEB) def. Tamara Barad Itzhaki 7-5, 6-3, 6-1

 

Doubles: 

Schaefbauer/Williford def. Rogozinska Dzik (Poland)/Sandberg (NEB) 6-1, 6-4

Day 1:

Singles: 

Novak (NEB) def. Susana L. Alcaraz 6-1, 6-2
