Cahoy, Siedhoff Earn Academic All-District Honors



Nebraska track and field’s Kevin Cahoy and Luke Siedhoff earned CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition, as the 2019-20 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Track/Cross Country Team were announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Friday.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.

Cahoy, a senior from Grand Island, has a 3.99 GPA majoring in biological sciences and microbiology. He finished third in the pole vault at the 2020 Big Ten Indoor Championships with a personal-best clearance of 17-3 1/2 (5.27m). He is a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and academic All-Big Ten selection. Cahoy was also on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in 2019 and is a three-time member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

Siedhoff, a senior from Crete, has a 3.91 GPA while majoring in biological sciences and Spanish. He received second-team All-Big Ten honors in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2020 Big Ten Indoor Championships with a time of 7.79 to finish as the runner-up. In the prelims at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, he ran a personal-best time of 7.78 in the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for the finals, good for the No. 7 time on the NU top-10 list. Siedhoff, the 2019-20 Nebraska Male Student-Athlete of the Year, is a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and academic All-Big Ten Selection. He is also a three-time member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
