Two-time national champion for Nebraska and Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs will meet former Arizona State wrestler Zahid Valencia in the main event of a seven-match card on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Austin, Texas. Wrestling in the undercard is three-time All-American for the Huskers Tyler Berger, who will face Ohio State’s Sammy Sasso.
Burroughs enters the match boasting an impressive resume of international wrestling accolades. A two-time Final X champion and four-time Pan American champion, he earned bronze at last year’s World Championships, adding to his collection of world medals. Valencia won two NCAA Championships as a Sun Devil and three Pac-12 championships.
Berger, a four-time NCAA qualifier and second-year volunteer assistant coach for Nebraska, will wrestle freestyle in the third match of the undercard on Saturday evening. Berger most recently faced off against Joey McKenna in Wrestling Underground, where he earned an 8-2 decision over the former Ohio State standout.
The full card features all three styles of international wrestling and starts at 7 p.m. (CT). All the action can be streamed live on FloWrestling.
