Big Ten Basketball Pairings announced for 2018-19, Huskers face strong home conference slate

Home games against Michigan State and Sweet 16-qualifier Purdue highlight the Nebraska men’s basketball team’s 2018-19 conference home schedule.

The Big Ten Conference announced its pairings for the upcoming season on Thursday.

The conference schedule will increase from 18 to 20 games beginning this season. Each team will have seven opponents they play both home and away, along with three single-play home and single-play road games.

The Huskers double-play match ups feature a pair of 30-win teams in Michigan State and Purdue, as well as NIT champion Penn State.

Michigan State is the defending Big Ten regular season champ, while the Boilermakers are fresh off an appearance in the Sweet 16.

NU’s other double plays for next season include Maryland, Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois.

Nebraska’s three single-play match ups at home include Ohio State, Wisconsin and Northwestern.

The Huskers’ three single-play road games include a trip to NCAA runner-up Michigan, as well as Indiana and Rutgers.

Dates, start time and TV information will be announced later this year.
