Badura and Westenberger Have Career Days in Final Round at Desert Mountain



Scottsdale, Ariz. – After their worst round of the season, the Nebraska Men’s Golf Team bounced back in a big way firing their second-best score of the season with a 292 (+12). The Huskers jumped two spots in the team standings on the final day finishing 9th with a score of 903 (+39). 10th ranked Vanderbilt ran away with the team championship winning the meet by 24 strokes with an 842.

The Huskers were led on the final day by two career performances from sophomore Caleb Badura and junior Tom Westenberger. Badura and Westenberger each shot a career-low 70 (-2) while Badura finished with his lowest 54-hole score as a Husker firing a 223 (+7). Badura would record his first top-25 finish, as he tied for 21st and would jump 16 spots on the final day

Westenberger responded from one of his worst performances in the second round on Saturday with a career-low 70 (-2). Westenberger started the day 14-over and tied for 58th but would finish the tournament 12-over and tied for 41st.

Branden Meyer would finish second in the Husker lineup after firing a final round 75 (+3) to finish the tournament with a 226 (+10) and tied for 32nd.

Daniel Pearson rounded out the tournament with a five-over 77 to finish tied for 45th with a 54-hole score of 230 (+14).

Tanner Owen shot a final round 80 (+8) and finished the tournament in 64th with a 54-hole score of 238.

The Huskers will return to action on April 4-5 at The Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas at the Traditions Club.
