Volleyball: Husker Invite Day 1

This weekend saw the #4 Nebraska Huskers host Missouri State, Central Michigan, and New Mexico at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.

On day one of the Husker Invite at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, the #4 Nebraska Cornhuskers Women’s Volleyball Team played host the the Central Michigan Chippewas, the Missouri State Bears and the New Mexico Lobos.

The Huskers took out the Chippewas first in the Friday matinee 25-18, 25-15, 25-11. The Huskers hit a spectacular .750 in the final set with 12 kills on 16 swings with no errors. The Huskers hit .347 for the match to .150 for the visitors. The leading attackers for the Big Red were Mikaela Foecke (.381) and Lauren Stivrins (.471) with nine kills apiece. Jazz Sweet hit .600 with seven kills on ten swings.

Nebraska absolutely smoked Central Michigan defensively with nine blocks to three for CMU, and 32 digs against 28. The Huskers’ leading blocker was Callie Schwarzenbach with two solo blocks and three block assists. Hayley Densberger, Kenzie Maloney, and Nicklin Hames each had seven digs.
