Volleyball: #4 Huskers Beat #16 Boilermakers

In other Husker sports news on Saturday night, the #4 Nebraska Huskers Womens’ Volleyball team wrapped up a three-game run of road matches in West Lafayette, Indiana against the #16 Purdue Boilermakers. The Huskers returned home with a hard-fought 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-14, 25-18) win.

The Huskers hit .287 for the match while holding the Boilermakers to .134. Mikaela Foecke led the Husker attack with 21 kills while committing just one error to hit .476. On the other side, Annika Albrecht had 13 kills and hit .321.

Interestingly, the Huskers hit the worst in the set they won most handily. In set three, a 25-14 Husker win, the Huskers hit .185, but held Purdue to .000 which is a convincing margin.

The teams matched one another in serving, with the Huskers and Boilermakers both recording three aces and seven errors. They also matched digs, with both teams having 49. Two Huskers were in the double digits, Kenzie Maloney and Kelly Hunter recorded 12 and 13 digs respectively.
