State Patrol Seize Marijuana and Arrest Two Along I-80

SEWARD, Neb. (AP) – Authorities say two men were arrested after six bags of marijuana were found in the minivan they were traveling in on Interstate 80 in southeast Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper pulled over the eastbound minivan just before 3 p.m. Tuesday because of a traffic violation in Seward County. The patrol says the trooper then smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and a subsequent search turned up nearly 127 pounds (58 kilograms) of pot inside the bags. The pot’s street value was estimated at $378,000.

The two California men were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale and suspicion of lacking a drug tax stamp. Court records don’t show they’ve been formally charged yet.
