Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Tommy Armstrong Jr: better than you think

“Tommy’s growing. He’s getting better,” said Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini of his starting quarterback.
“He’s not the finished product yet, but I don’t know a quarterback who is after playing a year and a half.”
Tommy Armstrong Jr isn’t going to be all league this year, but he did make three huge throws on third down for the Huskers that were critical for sustaining drives and OWNING Northwestern in the second half.

All those wishbone, option, option-veer offenses of many years ago didn’t rack up passing statistics. And it really wasn’t until around the Joe Ganz era that Nebraska really started to air it out.
Armstrong completed 18-of-29 passes for 221 yards in tonight’s gam
