Keystone Route Approved By Nebraska Public Service Commission

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Opponents of the Keystone XL oil pipeline say a Nebraska commission’s decision to approve an alternative route will enable them to take actions that could indefinitely block the project. The Nebraska Public Service Commission on Monday approved a route for the proposed pipeline, but it veers from a route preferred by developer TransCanada that was approved by the federal government. An attorney representing environmental groups says the panel’s decision gives his clients new issues to raise.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska regulators have approved an alternative route through the state for the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. It’s the last major regulatory hurdle facing project operator TransCanada Corp. But opponents are expected to challenge the ruling in court and say another round of federal approval may be necessary.
