Bo Pelini Has Finally Handed Out The Blackshirts To His Nebraska Defense

Seven games into its season, the Nebraska defense can now call itself “The Blackshirts,” the nickname given to the Huskers’ first-team unit and other key players beginning in the 1960s.
At today’s practice, Bo Pelini handed out the black practice jerseys to his defense, which allowed only 17 points to Northwestern following a seven-point second-half performance against Michigan State.
The Huskers’ defense ranks 18th in the country in points allowed and 28th in yards given up per game.
