2018 Nebraska Basketball Player Profiles: Thorir Thorbjarnarson, The Best Name in All of College Basketball?

Will “Thor” be able to contribute this year for Tim Miles?

Thorir “THOR” Thorbjarnarson, the 6-foot-5 Icelandic Native, comes into this season having played only nine games last year, 19 minutes in total. Thor enrolled late into Nebraska, when Tim Miles persuaded him around the middle of summer.

Thor made the most of his opportunities when he would go in towards the end of a blowout, specifically the game his parents watched in the seats of Pinnacle Bank Arena. Thor made two out of two three-pointers and showcased some of the potential he might have for Nebraska in the future.

For this upcoming season, Thor will have lots of competition with fellow underclassmen at shooting guard, Thomas Allen, Amir Harris, and Nana Akenten. Luckily for these players, Anton Gill and Evan Taylor graduated, so the spot is open for grabs.
